With the
Omega VII rubber series, the Korean company
Xiom achieved the absolute breakthrough in terms of modern table tennis rubbers with an integrated speed-gluing effect. This is also true for the
Omega VII Asia, which is very fast, highly spinny, and extremely light. The
Omega 7 Asia is equipped with a very hard sponge (52.5 °). This results in much directness, much speed, and lots of power: Perfect for modern attackers with a good technique. Control, however, is decreased in this TT rubber (although control is still ok considering the very offensive style of this rubber). We only recommend this rubber for players who are able to control this weapon (in other words, who have a high training workload, and good skills).
Xiom also implemented new technologies when creating the Omega 7 Asia (by the way: pimples are in). The so called Elasto Futura generation (with Cycloid) enables several positive developments. First, there is a better accuracy (balls are more accurate, and hit the target) and an improved trajectory. Second, the game can be designed with more pressure you can exert on your opponent. Powerful topspins, even at high speeds, result in a sinking trajectory at the end of the flight path. This ensures that the balls have a good length, and improves the safety (smaller error rate).
The hard Carbo sponge, as well as the highly catchy (lot of grip!) topsheet were perfectly matched to each other. Due to Dynamic Friction, there is a better synchronization with the Carbo sponge. Hence, this combination results in much power, and an enormous amount of rotation. This makes this rubber perfect for modern, aggressive attackers (Off+). In addition, the weight of the rubber was reduced.
Find a summary below, which tells you the main differences between the Xiom Omega 7 rubber series (note that all rubbers are basically "Off", and exhibit a low weight):
- Xiom Omega VII Euro: The Omega 7 Euro corresponds to the "softest" rubber within this series. Note that it is still medium-hard (45°)! The 7 Euro is mainly made for variable attacks. This rubber is very suitable not only for safe blocks, but - of course - also for dynamical topspins from the half distance. Also, the Omega VII Euro exhibits an elastic topsheet & thin pips. The corresponding gaming style is Off-.
- Xiom Omega VII Pro: More powerful than the former, with a catchy and elastic topsheet & a slightly harder medium-hard (47.5°) sponge. This rubber is designed for spinny topspins and hard shots from any position. Gaming system: Offensive attacks (Off).
- Xiom Omega VII Asia: Again a bit harder (52.5°) than former rubber. Hence, the VII Asia exhibits increased dynamics. This rubber also has a very catchy topsheet, is very direct, fast, and quite controllable (note that the Xiom 7 Asia is a very offensive rubber). Gaming style: Offensive plus (Off+).
- Xiom Omega VII Tour: The hardest (55°) rubber within the Omega 7 series! This table tennis rubber exhibits an extremely fast & catchy surface, plus an optimal speed transfer! Only one gaming system appropriately describes this brutal weapon: Offensive plus (Off+)!
